A Midlands Rush’s restaurant will temporarily close its doors. Here’s the reason
The grills are set to stop sizzling at one area Rush’s restaurant, at least for a moment.
Rush’s announced that the restaurant at 5101 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, at the Target shopping center, would close temporarily after Aug. 13. The restaurant said on social media that a shortage of employees spurred the coming closure.
“Our mission has always been to provide Rush’s employees with a positive, respectful and organized work environment while serving our customers quickly -- with the highest standards of quality and cleanliness,” the local restaurant chain posted on Facebook. “Because the current labor shortage makes it impossible to honor this commitment, we have opted to temporarily close this location so we can maintain the Rush’s experience for those we value most: our employees and our loyal patrons.”
The post said employees of the 5101 Sunset Blvd. store have been relocated to other Rush’s restaurants, and it hopes the location will be reopened soon. The Sunset Boulevard location is near Target, Best Buy, PetSmart and other major retailers, about 3 miles west of Interstate 20.
In all, there are nine Rush’s restaurants across the Midlands region. The small chain is known for its chili cheeseburgers, fried chicken, milkshakes and other fast food treats.
The company noted it is looking to hire workers for the 5101 Sunset Blvd. location, as well as others across the Midlands. To apply, visit https://www.rushs.com/jobs.
