Michael Keaton's Son: What You Need to Know About Sean Douglas

Michael Keaton delivered one of the night’s best speeches — if not the best speech — when he told a misty-eyed tale of his humble beginnings and ended by thanking his closest pal. “My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful,” said Keaton, who won Best Actor, Comedy or Musical for Birdman. “He also happens to be my son, Sean,” Keaton added through tears as the cameras cut to his only child.

Sean Douglas, as he’s known is, is acclaimed in his own right. Born in 1983, Douglas is a multiplatinum songwriter-producer on Warner Records. He has penned pop hits for Jason Derulo (“Talk Dirty” featuring 2Chainz and “Wiggle” featuring Snoop Dogg) and Demi Lovato (“Heart Attack”). He has also worked with the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, David Guetta, the Backstreet Boys, Cobra Starship, and Timbaland.

Douglas can add “Twitter heartthrob” to his credits. His name immediately began trending after cameras cut to him during his father’s speech. “Oh hello Michael Keaton’s son,” wrote Mindy Kaling.

Someone may have just gone from behind-the-scenes hitmaker to pop star himself.
