Someone’s sewn Michael Fassbender’s head back on, then.

A new snap from the set of ‘Prometheus’ sequel 'Alien Covenant’ finds the Irish actor rapt as director Ridley Scott gives a pep talk to the cast and crew.

- Thor Won’t Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

And rather unlike the last time we saw his character, the android David, his head appears to be firmly attached to the rest of him.

Shooting of the movie is now in full swing, with another set of pictures from the production emerging last month.

The harrowing scene depicted ashen human remains seemingly frozen following some calamitous apocalypse type event.

Filming is taking place in Sydney, Australia, with plot details remaining a mystery.

Among the things we know for sure is that Noomi Rapace’s character Elizabeth Shaw, will not be returning following her escape at the end of 'Prometheus’.

Also, Scott intends to link up the movie with the plot of the original 'Alien’ series, though what Fassbender’s role in all that means we do not know.

Fassbender’s David, the sophisticated android, joins a lineage of artificial humans in the series, following Ian Holm’s Ash in the first movie, and Lance Henriksen’s Bishop in 'Aliens’.

'Alien Covenant’ is due out in October next year.
