Miami’s Oscar Isaac put on a British accent in this new Marvel series. Twitter responds

We love Oscar Isaac and he can do no wrong in our book.

He is a Miami guy and we stay loyal to all our 305ers. Well, we try hard to, anyway.

Earlier this week, though, the Internet turned on the Country Walk-raised actor who was born Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada in Guatemala and came to the Magic City when he was in second grade.

After the first trailer for Disney Plus series “Moon Knight” dropped Monday night, people began to knock the star’s take on a British accent.

Isaac plays the titular character (aka Marc Spector) based on the Marvel Comics character. The action hero is a Marine turned troubled mercenary who dies and is resurrected as a caped crusader by an Egyptian moon good.

“The action-adventure features a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder,” reads the description. “The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.”

Commenters said while in human form, the Westminster Christian alum (OK, he was expelled) sounded as cockney as Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins back in the day. This is not a compliment.

Other social media users were just confused as to why it was necessary to speak like that at all.

“WHY IS OSCAR ISAAC DOING A WEIRD ENGLISH ACCENT,” demanded someone else in all caps.

Another joked that the trailer should have come with a “jump scare warning.”

One fan wrote how disappointing it was to see one of their favorite actors sound that way: “It sucks all the charm out of one of our greatest leading men and I do not understand it.”

Even Isaac, the son of a Guatemalan mother and Cuban father, admitted that the part was challenging, so let’s cut him some slack.

The 42 year old married father of two said recently in the Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast that playing Moon Knight was the “biggest workload” and the “most challenging” role he’s had thus far in his career.

Check it for yourself when it premieres on March 30.
