As a reminder, the show's official synopsis reads: "How I Met Your Father is a story that catapults us back to the year 2021, where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options."

Hilary Duff previously spoke out about her surprise at being contacted by the show's team, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, about the role, because she was nine months pregnant with her third child and recently married for the second time.

"'Why are you calling me? I’m about to have a baby'," she called to The New York Times. "'You want me for this role of this thirtysomething girl who doesn’t have kids?’ Obviously, the title scared me a lot. I was not into doing a reboot, and it was such a beloved show. That cast was incredible together, so buttoned up and tight."

On what convinced her, she added, "Then Isaac was like, it’s a sequel. No one’s trying to be this person or that person. The cast is off on their own adventure."

We're so excited to see how Sophie's story develops in season two!
