Passenger plane and helicopter crash into river after mid-air collision in DC
A search and rescue operation is under way after a passenger plane and a military helicopter crashed over a major river in Washington DC. The American Airlines flight, with 60 passengers and four crew on board, was landing at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport when the mid-air collision took place. The US Army Black Hawk helicopter had three soldiers on board.

What to know about the collision between a passenger jet and Army helicopter near DC
The aircraft plummeted into the Potomac River and multiple people were killed. The crash occurred in some of the most tightly controlled and monitored airspace in the world, just over 3 miles (5 kilometers) south of the White House and the U.S. Capitol. A few minutes before the jet was to land, air traffic controllers asked American Airlines Flight 5342 if it could land on a shorter runway and the pilots agreed.

Wizz Air cuts annual profit forecast on rising costs
(Reuters) -European low-cost airline Wizz Air cut its annual net income forecast for the second time in six months on Thursday, as it grapples with rising costs related to the grounding of planes due to engine problems and economic uncertainties. Wizz faces several challenges from costs and disruptions due to groundings related to issues with RTX-owned Pratt & Whitney engines. European airlines are hoping for a better 2025 after 2024 was mired by spiralling costs, geopolitical instability and capacity constraints that forced some carriers to spend more on leasing planes to ensure they could maintain key routes.

H&M fourth-quarter sales disappoint due to late Black Friday
STOCKHOLM (Reuters) -Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M reported weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter sales on Thursday due in part to a late Black Friday, but said sales were up 4% in December and January, indicating a better start to the new fiscal year. H&M's sales in the fourth quarter to Nov. 30 were 62.19 billion Swedish crowns ($5.65 billion), up 3% in local currencies, a weaker performance than analysts' mean forecast of 63.48 billion Swedish crowns. H&M shares fell 4.5% at the market open.
