'Melrose Place' alum Heather Locklear is engaged to longtime boyfriend Chris Heisser

Heather Locklear is engaged to her "favorite person."

The actress and her longtime boyfriend, former motocross racer Chris Heisser, got engaged in April, Locklear's rep Cece Yorke confirmed to USA TODAY Friday.

Locklear and Heisser are high school sweethearts who rekindled their romance years ago. In 2017, Locklear shared a picture with Heisser, writing, "My favorite person on earth. 40 years later."

This will be the third marriage for Locklear, who was married to Mötley Crüe frontman Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993 and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora from 1994 and 2007. Locklear and Sambora share daughter Ava Elizabeth Sambora, 22.

Locklear celebrated her engagement following her one-year sobriety anniversary. "Hugs will come later! 1 year sober today!" the star captioned a Maya Angelou quote on Instagram April 21.

Locklear and Heisser's romance has had some bumps in the road.

In 2019, Locklear pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting officers stemming from two confrontations with first responders at her California home in February and June of 2018.

Locklear, best known for her work on "Melrose Place, "Dynasty" and "T.J. Hooker," was sentenced to a 30-day treatment program in August 2019 as a result instead of a 120-day jail sentence.

Last week, however, Locklear expressed gratitude for first responders on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are all going through a challenging time right now,” Locklear said on her Instagram Story, according to Fox News. "I first want to say thank you to all the first responders, to the people who you order from and they deliver, the deliveries, the doctors, the nurses, the EMTs, everyone who helps us, the bank tellers, people who are working and maybe being susceptible.”
