Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are celebrated Archie's second birthday this week at their Montecito, CA, home. But Us Weekly got intel about how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making the day special for Archie, with some help from his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II from England.

“While Harry and Meghan are raising Archie to be grounded, they go the extra mile on his birthday,” a source told Us. “They made [his] card themselves and wrote a sweet poem inside, splashed out on gifts—including outdoor toys—and have bought him the cutest birthday outfit!”

The source added that overall, the couple, who's expecting their second child this summer, are trying to instill their values and a sense of philanthropy in Archie. “They want Archie to grow up understanding the importance of giving back,” the source said. “Harry and Meghan feel so blessed to have such an articulate and caring child. Archie is learning to count already and keeps saying, ‘two!’”

As for the Queen? She made a special effort to be part of Archie's day too, a source told Us. “Elizabeth II is planning to wish Archie a happy birthday via Zoom and she has sent him a present and card,” the source said. “Seeing her great-grandson’s face always brightens up her day!”

Harry and Meghan shared a new photo of Archie earlier today and called on fans to donate for COVID vaccine equity in his honor. “We cannot think of a more resonant way to honor our son’s birthday,” they wrote on their Archewell site. “If we all show up, with compassion for those we both know and don’t know, we can have a profound impact. Even a small contribution can have a ripple effect. Together, we can uplift, protect, and care for one another.”
