Is Meghan Markle ready to trade in her suit for a tiara?
Adams and Markle have been with the series from the start, playing power couple Mike Ross and Rachel Zane. The characters are engaged, and set reports indicate their wedding will take place in the back half of Season 7, which is slated to air in early 2018.
Adams reportedly has been looking to leave for some time, to pursue other creative endeavors. He has directed several episodes of "Suits," and married "Pretty Little Liars" alum Troian Bellisario in late 2016.
Meanwhile, Markle's tenure on the show seemed limited after she began dating Prince Harry last year. The couple has taken their relationship more public in recent months.
All of the cast members' contracts are up after Season 7. Sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that an eighth season is likely, so it would only revolve around star Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter, Sarah Rafferty's Donna, and Rick Hoffman's Louis Litt.
The door would remain open for guest appearances by Adams and Markle. After original series cast member Gina Torres left last year, she returned in a guest capacity for several episodes. Creator Aaron Korsh is also preparing a potential spinoff around her character, Jessica, which would air as a backdoor pilot in the Season 7 finale.
