Meet the Fort Worth cat mom with 1.5 million TikTok followers

In July 2021, 25-year-old Pearl Frazier posted a TikTok of her ragdoll cat Summer meowing as she carries her kitten to Frazier’s sleeping three-month-old daughter Blossom.

Before Frazier knew it, that video went viral, viewed 116.4 million times. About a month later, a video of her kitten Cookie stretching got 9.6 million views. She posted a video in June of her cat Clementine snuggling and kneading as Frazier rested her head on her. That video garnered 18.3 million views.

Today, Frazier along with her now one-year-old baby and 12 cats, has 1.5 million followers. The mechanical engineer regularly posts TikToks of the mischief Blossom and the kittens are up to, like Blossom trying to read to the kittens while they interrupt her with playtime, or the baby using the kittens as her escape goat when she gets into trouble with her mom.

“Right now she’s at the stage where she can interact with them more than when she was younger, so she likes to pet the cats and give them hugs. Those are probably her two favorite things,” Frazier said. “And then she also really likes to play with them. She likes to play with the cat balls and she’ll like pick them up and then give them to me and then I’ll toss them.”

Frazier has always been a cat lover, and her daughter is now growing up with felines just like she did. The TikTok creator fell in love with the first ragdoll cat she got out of college, leading her to raise five ragdoll cats and seven kittens.

“They like to always be around people and cuddle and spend time with you,” Frazier said. “They’re very playful, running around all the time.”

Then, in October 2019, her mom encouraged her to start posting on TikTok, and she grew a following of 412,000. But months later, her account was mistakenly banned by the app.

Starting over as a TikTok creator in 2020, when she first moved to Fort Worth, Frazier said it was a lot more difficult the second time around to gain a following. She continued posting daily, and it took about a month to start seeing people engage with her videos again, Frazier said. The account, with consistently viral videos viewed by millions, garners tons of positive comments from people who enjoy how soothing the TikToks are. People will comment things like ‘you’re living my dream’ or ‘they’re so cute.’ A lot of people say that they like her voice, Frazier said.

“Usually the ones that are my top ones you kind of you expect them to do good but you don’t realize like how much people are gonna love them until you put it out there,” she says.

How to grow your own TikTok platform?

Post as often as possible, Frazier recommends, especially when it comes to pets because people love seeing them. Also, always include the names of your pets in the videos you’re posting.

“It’s kind of hard sometimes when you first start out to know exactly what videos really interest people,” she said. “So just post a lot so you can kind of learn what interests people and then also make sure that people learn all your pets’ names, it makes them develop a better connection with your pet.”

Frazier’s goal: to continue spreading information about how to care for fur babies like hers.
