Yahoo Movies Meet the 5 new Iron Chefs taking over Kitchen Stadium in Netflix's reboot
Five culinary superstars will be sharpening their knives and donning the iconic Iron Chef jackets in Netflix's upcoming revival of the cooking competition series, Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.
Curtis Stone, Dominique Crenn, Marcus Samuelsson, Ming Tsai, and Gabriela Cámara are set to defend Kitchen Stadium as the new Iron Chefs when the show premieres June 15.
Stone is no stranger to culinary competition shows, having appeared on Take Home Chef, Top Chef Masters, and Top Chef Junior. The Michelin-starred Australian chef is the creative force behind Maude in Beverly Hills, Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant in Hollywood, and Georgie in Dallas.

Crenn has shattered glass ceilings for women in cooking, becoming the first woman in the United States to receive three Michelin stars. A 2016 episode of Netflix's Chef's Table zoomed in on Crenn's distinguished career and namesake restaurant Atelier Crenn.

Samuelsson placed sixth on The Next Iron Chef in 2011 and has served as a judge on shows such as Chopped and Top Chef: Family Style. He also memorably introduced Anthony Bourdain to Ethiopian cuisine in a 2015 episode of Parts Unknown.

Tsai's take on East-West cuisine has led him to opening the restaurants Blue Ginger and Blue Dragon. His series Simply Ming is PBS's longest-running cooking show.

Last but not least, Cámara is the chef behind acclaimed Mexican restaurants Contramar, Entremar, Itacate Del Mar, and Caracol Del Mar. Her work drives sustainability efforts in the restaurant industry.

The new Iron Chefs will join hosts Alton Brown, Kristen Kish, and Mark Dacascos. Andrew Zimmerman and Nilou Motamed are set to judge, with guest appearances from Danny Trejo, Wolfgang Puck, and more.
Brown, who previously served as commentator on Food Network's Iron Chef America, told EW earlier this month that the Netflix rendition will delve more into the challenger chefs' stories than previous versions of the show.
"What we've never really had the ability to do is to really get into more personal stories of the people that are cooking the food," Brown said. "So the people that are cooking the food — the cultures from which they come, their backgrounds — are really a whole 'nother part of weaving into this tapestry of what food can do."

The new Iron Chef will also feature a larger and grander Kitchen Stadium in its journey to crown the first "Iron Legend."
"We were always working in a relatively small space with limited lighting," Brown said. "Finally, Iron Chef has a home as big as it is."
