The fun dessert is made of creamy custard wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust
McDonald’s is ready for cozy season!
This month, the brand announced that the fan-favorite holiday pie is back on the menu to make all your winter festivities even sweeter.
The fun dessert is made of creamy custard wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust. The glaze is drizzled with sugar and features rainbow sprinkles.
Per McDonald’s, the special treat will only be available in participating restaurants while supplies last.
This summer, the fast food chain introduced a new dessert: the cookies and crème pie.
The treat combines chocolate sandwich cookie pieces, fluffy vanilla crème filling and a chocolate cookie crumb crust.
The news came days after McDonald’s announced that it was phasing out its McCafé Bakery. The category's three items, the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll were removed from the menu.
"But fans can still satisfy their sweet tooth with our iconic Chocolate Chip Cookies, Baked Apple Pie and frozen desserts at restaurants nationwide," a spokesperson told PEOPLE in a statement at the time.
This month, McDonald’s announced that they’re bringing back McNugget Buddies — the nostalgic Happy Meal collectibles — after 25 years off the market.
Starting on Dec. 11, six different McNugget Buddy collectibles, each with different outfits and backstories, will be available at McDonald’s nationwide. The toys’ reprisal comes in partnership with New York City-based artist Kerwin Frost, who helped redesign the mascots and created a meal for fans to order.
The new Buddies are inspired by Frost’s childhood in Harlem and one of the toys is a miniature version of the DJ, aptly named Kerwin Frost and adorned with a matching face tattoo. The other McNugget Buddies are Don Bernice, Uptown Moe, Waffutu, BRRRICK and Darla. Each toy is decked out in interchangeable outfits.
The Kerwin Frost Box includes one McNugget Buddy, fries, a soft drink and your choice of 10-piece McNuggets or a Big Mac. Plus, merch from the partnership will be available online starting on Dec. 11, while supplies last.
