Mayor of Kingstown premiered on November 14, 2021.
The show has seen major success so far.
While Mayor of Kingstown premiered on Paramount Network and Paramount +, it’s moving over exclusively to Paramount+.
The new crime drama follows the McLusky family, who are power brokers in the incarceration business in Kingstown, Michigan. Created by Yellowstone showrunner and co-creator Taylor Sheridan and helmed by folks like Jeremy Renner, Dianne Wiest, and Kyle Chandler, it’s no wonder the show has already become the biggest Paramount+ premiere to date.
What might surprise viewers, however, is that starting soon they won't be able to watch Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown back to back on Paramount Network anymore — Mayor of Kingstown is moving from the cable network to Paramount+ exclusively.
“Mayor of Kingstown is the #1 original scripted drama on Paramount+ since its rebrand and the number-one new scripted cable premiere since Yellowstone in 2018,” Chris McCarthy, the President and CEO of MTV Entertainment Group, said in a press release obtained by Good Housekeeping. “More importantly, it’s already outpacing Yellowstone in key demos ... which is why we’re confident our franchise strategy is working and Mayor of Kingstown will continue to thrive after it moves exclusively to Paramount+ on November 28th."
That's right. Starting next weekend, you'll have to watch Yellowstone on Paramount (the show is not on Paramount +) and Mayor of Kingstown on Paramount+, if you want to catch both programs.
All this to say, if you’re looking for a new show to bide your time between new episodes of Yellowstone — or even if you’re simply looking for more entertainment in general — Mayor of Kingstown is worth the watch. The first two episodes are available on Paramount+, with new episodes airing on Sundays.
