Yahoo Movies The Masked Singer's Davina McCall pulls out of Changing Rooms reboot
Changing Rooms is coming back – but it hasn't been an easy journey.
The reboot was originally set to be presented by The Masked Singer judge Davina McCall, but unfortunately, she had to drop out.
Instead Naked Attraction host Anna Richardson will be taking over her duties and joining Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and the other decorators.
Speaking about why she had to pull out, Davina explained that Covid-19 had got in the way.
"Changing Rooms changed times when they were filming, sadly, because of Covid as they were going into people's houses," she explained to The Sun.
"They had to change it three times.
"And I could do the first two times that they changed it, but I had stuff on this third time so that was really depressing. I was so frustrated and annoyed about that.
"I wasn't annoyed as in angry; I was just sad about it because I bloody love that show. But I have to let go of that now."
The show will run for six episodes on Channel 4, following the same format of two teams renovating the other's house in a short period of time.
New faces joining the programme – which originally aired on the BBC – include carpenter and joiner Tibby Singh as well as 2LG Studio designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead.
Llewelyn-Bowen spoke of his decision to return adding: "There’s no room for beige in our homes and, just as it was in the 90s, Changing Rooms is once more the homestyle antidote to Britain's blues (and greys and taupes, and even Magnolia).
"It's taken quite a lot of coaxing to get me under the Changing Rooms banner once more, but nothing like as much coaxing as it's going to take to squeeze those leather trousers back on."
The Changing Rooms reboot doesn't currently have a release date, but it is expected to air on Channel 4 later this year.
