'The Masked Singer' Just Introduced a Shocking New Surprise and the Judges Are Floored

It's night two of The Masked Singer season 6 and already the show is giving viewers at home a major surprise. Shortly after host Nick Cannon walked out on stage and introduced the two new wildcards in the competition — Hamster and Baby — he announced to judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger that they would all be making "TV history" thanks to the show's new "take it off" buzzer.

Understandably, the judges got both excited and confused as to what Nick was talking about — that is, until hazmat-suit-wearing Masked Singer crew members came out on stage carrying the new device.

What is the "take it off" buzzer on The Masked Singer?

Here are the new rules for the buzzer, as spelled out by Nick:

• If a judge is absolutely sure they know who's behind the mask, they are allowed to press the "take it off" buzzer.

• If the judge guesses correctly, the disguised competitor must unmask immediately and will be sent home, regardless of their talent. The judge with the correct guess will also be awarded two extra points, which will go toward their grand total of correct answers for the season. The judge with the most correct guesses for the entire season will win the Golden Ear trophy at the finale.

• If the judge is wrong, they will be "significantly punished" (to be determined what that means).

• Only one judge per group of singers can use the "take it off" buzzer.

• It's unclear (but unlikely) that a celebrity guest judge will get to use the "take it off" buzzer.

Got all of that? Cool. Now, of course, Ken couldn't help himself and just had to press the buzzer out of sheer curiosity. After getting scolded by Nicole and Jenny for doing so, Ken apologized and waited to hear how he would be "significantly punished." Nick quickly quipped that Ken's jacket was "punishment enough" for the time being (ouch) and moved on to introduce the singers.

Needless to say, it might be a bit until one of the judges has the courage to press the "take it off" buzzer. Then again, knowing Ken, he may be pressing it all season long. We'll just have to wait and see how this new addition to the show works out.
