Maryland focusing on getting COVID-19 vaccines to youth

There were big developments Thursday on the COVID-19 vaccine front that could shift vaccination efforts to children under 16. Maryland is already shifting its focus, and doctors said parents should, too. This comes as the Food and Drug Administration is poised to grant emergency use authorization as early as next week for Pfizer's COVID-19 shot to be used in children as young as 12. Moderna on Thursday released results of its adolescent vaccine trial, saying its COVID-19 vaccine is 96% effective in children as young as 12 and no serious safety issues were found so far.
