Marvel star joins American Crime Story: Impeachment to replace GLOW actress

American Crime Story: Impeachment has found its Ann Coulter in Marvel and How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders.

The Canadian-American actress is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of Ryan Murphy's crime anthology series. According to Variety, she is to play Conservative pundit Ann Coulter.

Smulders replaces Emmy-nominated actress Betty Gilpin, best known for the role of Debbie on Netflix's prematurely-axed wrestling show GLOW.

Based on Jeffrey Toobin's 2000 book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President, Murphy's series will focus on former US President Bill Clinton's affair with White House intern and later employee Monica Lewinsky, revealed in 1998.

Murphy will bring the controversy of the Clinton-Lewinsky political scandal, and the trial that followed, to the small screen in a ten-episode season premiering next month.

Zeroing in on "the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over a century," the upcoming series features a killer ensemble.

Alongside Smulders, the show also stars Clive Owen and The Sopranos' Edie Falco in the roles of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Booksmart protagonist Beanie Feldstein portrays Lewinsky, while Murphy's frequent collaborator Sarah Paulson plays civil servant and whistleblower Tripp.

American Crime Story: Impeachment premieres on FX in the US on September 7, 2021. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.

    Over half of IT workers feel overwhelmed by the amount of tasks they have to do in a day according to new research commissioned by GoTo and conducted by OnePoll. The international poll of 1,000 U.S.-based, 250 U.K.-based and 250 India-based IT decision-makers found 58% overall feel overwhelmed — 78% in India, 60% in the U.K. and 53% in the U.S. On any given day, the average IT worker only has the capacity to support 85% of the tickets they receive. And while roughly half are easy for IT teams (50% in the US, 48% in the UK, and 46% in India), nearly one-third (29%) of tickets are considered difficult to resolve. IT workers also reported they are frequently responsible for a range of additional tasks within their organization, which may contribute to feeling overwhelmed. Respondents said they are responsible for addressing cybersecurity issues (39%), internal security issues (26%), and lack of budget (25%).

    Its latest rally, following stronger-than-expected March inflation numbers that pushed back U.S. rate cut bets even further, highlights how sensitive currency markets are to relative interest rate changes. "We track investor flows, and the dollar buying since the CPI release has been strong," said Tim Graf, head of macro strategy for Europe at State Street Global Markets. One dollar is worth just under 155 yen, its strongest since 1990, and Japan has warned that it might start buying yen to support its value.
