Ant-Man and The Wasp star Hannah John-Kamen faces a new challenge altogether as she takes on killer goblins in Unwelcome.

Warner Bros has released the first trailer for the new creature feature, previously titled The Little People, as a couple get more than they bargained for when they move from London to rural Ireland.

In the trailer, we see Maya (Hannah John-Kamen) and Jamie (Douglas Booth) warned about leaving a "blood offering" at the bottom of their garden every evening. It's for the 'Redcaps' who are named as such because they soak their caps in the blood of their victims.

As this is a horror movie, it's no surprise that it doesn't take long for the couple to forget to leave their offering. And soon, the murderous goblins are unleashed – but are they the real threat to Maya and her unborn child?

When Maya realises she's under threat by a local family company they hired to do building repairs to their home, she finds herself turning to the woods at the bottom of her garden and the creatures within it to ensure the safety of her child.

Unwelcome had us already with the promise of killer goblins, but this first trailer has sold us even more. Bring it on.

Directed by Jon Wright and based on an original screenplay by Mark Stay, the movie also stars Derry Girls' Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn, The Young Offenders' Chris Walley, Colm Meaney and Niamh Cusack.

Before Unwelcome hits cinemas next year, we'll be seeing Hannah John-Kamen in the new Resident Evil movie in the iconic role of Jill Valentine, and she's also landed the lead role in the long-awaited Red Sonja movie.

Unwelcome is released in cinemas on February 4.
