Yahoo Movies Martin Freeman's The Responder release date confirmed by BBC
The Responder, starring Martin Freeman and Adelayo Adedayo, has been given a release date at long last.
The new five-part crime drama – which follows "unconventional" officer Chris (Freeman) as he takes on rookie partner Rachel (Adedayo) – is heading to our screens and the BBC iPlayer before the month is out.
Monday, January 24, to be precise.
From the mind of ex-police officer Tony Schumacher, the upcoming procedural also stars the likes of The Witcher's MyAnna Buring, Tin Star's Ian Hart and Kerrie Hayes, Luther star Warren Brown, and After Life's David Bradley.

The official synopsis for The Responder teases a "crisis-stricken, morally compromised" urgent response officer at its heart – a role that's even seen Martin Freeman take on the Scouse accent.
Despite its heavy premise, and a promise from creators that the show will hold "a mirror up to the emotional extremes of life on the front line of British policing", The Responder won't be five straight hours of doom and gloom.
Opening up about the series ahead of its release, Freeman told The Guardian that viewers will be given a reprieve from the tension with "laugh-out-loud moments".
"The producers deliberately shot the first part of The Responder as much as possible in order, which did really help establish the louring, foreboding sense something is about to f**king go off," he explained, before offering a caveat.
"What I loved about The Responder, from first reading it, was its world in which there are laugh-out-loud moments, but it so quickly turns into something else.
"And it's not, 'Here's a funny bit, now here's a tragic bit.' It's all mixed together."
The Responder will air on BBC One.
