Remember this summer when we knew a brief moment of joy when Martha Stewart seemingly spontaneously posted a "thirst trap" photo of herself in her pool? Doesn't it seem like a million years ago?? Either way, the queen of all things lifestyle recently discussed the photo and revealed the whole thing was a happy accident.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Martha said that she was not just taking selfies in her pool, but that she was actually trying to show off the decor in her backyard. Nevertheless, internet history was made that day.

"I took a pool selfie photo by mistake. I was trying to take a picture of the beautiful turquoise planter at the end of the pool, but the camera was on me, so I just snapped it," Martha explained. "It looked so good, so I posted it."

If you've ever seen Martha's Instagram, you'll know that she simply loves to show off her beautiful house and gardens, so this explanation checks out. In fact, when Chelsea Handler famously recreated the photo, Martha let Chelsea know that "I do think my pool is a little bit prettier than yours..." so clearly, she's proud!! Either way, Martha said she learned a lesson about what exactly a "thirst trap was" that day and it probably won't be her last.

"I didn’t know what a 'thirst trap' was, but now I do. Now I’m looking for the next thirst trap. I love doing those promiscuous, provocative things, because it’s just fun," she said

I too am always looking for the next thirst trap. Godspeed, Martha!!!
