Martha Stewart Clapped Back At A "Fake News" Report About Her Peacocks

If you're going to mention Martha Stewart and her beloved peacocks, you better make sure you get your information right because she's definitely going to straighten you out if you don't.

In response to a piece published by The New York Post, the 79-year-old author and award-winning lifestyle guru took to her Twitter account on Sunday, May 16, to clarify the actual number of peacocks she owns. Calling the outlet out for spreading "fake news" about information regarding her beautiful birds, Martha—who is gearing up to release her 99th (!) cookbook this fall—wrote: "They have a story on peacocks today and say I have sixteen on my farm [.] I actually have 21 of these glorious birds whose house is impeccable."

Going on to also mention that her "glorious birds" are actually very, very clean and "do not smell," she let fans, pet lovers, and The Post know that while her peacocks have loud voices, they are a load of fun to hear and are super friendly animals to have around. That's right, Auntie Martha—let them know!

Though the outlet has updated the original article to reflect the accurate number of peacocks Martha Stewart has, the miscount perhaps comes from a 2020 blog post that was uploaded on The Martha Blog. At the time, she mentioned she had "16 living in a coop surrounded by a large, fully-enclosed yard located just outside my stable and near my Linden Allee," but it's clear that Martha has since added to her clan. But since she is a huge animal lover (she once told Today that she has "hundreds and hundreds of pets"), it makes total sense that her number of peacocks continues to grow.

Honestly, though, I hope she shows them off soon because I'm almost positive they'll take a page from Martha's book and serve us real model vibes in every picture we get. Yes, honey!
