Mark Wahlberg's Career Highs and Lows, From 'Boogie Nights' to 'The Lovely Bones'

Mark Wahlberg has gone from break dancing rapper to one of the biggest movie stars in the planet, but getting to this point has been an occasionally rocky road.

Wahlberg, who appears in the new sequel Ted 2, kicked off his acting career in earnest with 1994′s poorly received military comedy Renaissance Man before following it up with the scuzzy stalker classic Fear. Three years later, he scored his big critical breakout, Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘70s porn epic Boogie Nights. Nearly 20 years later, Dirk Diggler is still one of his most iconic, enduring performances.

Since then, Wahlberg has jumped between big blockbusters (Transformers 4), big flops (The Lovely Bones, Planet of the Apes), critical darlings (Three Kings, The DepartedThe Fighter), and even comedies (The Other Guys and the Ted movies). The only constant: that silky Boston accent.
