Everything Margot Robbie Has Ever Said About Friend Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

From ELLE

Margot Robbie might be acting royalty, what with two Oscar nominations and a ‘Best Actress’ Critics Choice Movie Award for her role in I, Tonya, but the Australian actress has been rubbing shoulders with real life princes for quite some time.

Long before the actress moved to the US, the Australian star lived in south London with several of her friends and her now-husband Tom Ackerley.

During her stay in the capital, the Australian also struck up a friendship with Prince Harry after meeting the royal at a housewarming party at model Suki Waterhouse’s home, which was attended by the likes of Princess Eugenie, Cara Delevingne and Sienna Miller.

Earlier this month, the actress spoke about the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle, making a speech at the BAFTA awards – courtesy of Brad Pitt – which referenced the couple’s decision to split their time between the US and north America.

During the BAFTA awards in London in February, the actress went on stage to collect the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award on behalf of her Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood co-star Pitt.

Reading aloud his speech, Robbie said ‘Hey Britain. Heard you just became single. Welcome to the club!’, referencing Britain's exit from Europe (Brexit).

She also joked that the Oscar winner plans to call his BAFTA award 'Harry' (after Prince Harry), because he was looking forward to ‘taking it back to America’ with him, referring to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to split their time between the UK and North America in the years to come.

The gag prompted laughter from Prince William and Kate Middleton who were seated on the front row at the ceremony.

Last month, the Sussexes announced that they were stepping back from their royal roles, and have since been spending time Stateside and in Canada with their son Prince Archie.

March 2016: Margot Robbie speaks of her first meeting with Prince Harry

During an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his show The Tonight Show in March 2016, the star admitted that she didn’t know who Harry was, despite talking to him 'for half an hour'.

Referring to the comical glasses that he wore in a photo taken with the likes of Miller and Delevingne, Robbie said: 'Actually, when I saw him in those glasses, I was like, "Oh my God, I didn't know Ed Sheeran was at the party," and he was really offended. He was like, "Shut up!"'
