Check your ZIP code: See how many homes sold in your Sacramento-area neighborhood last month

The Sacramento housing market experienced a more than 2% decrease in sales of single-family homes last month, according to The Sacramento Association of Realtors.

A total of 1,406 homes were sold in December after being on the market for an average of 20 days, compared to 1,445 homes sold in November in an average of 18 days.

This is all while Sacramento’s single-family median sales price decreased from $515,000 to $512,013, less than a 1% decrease since December.

But only one year ago, 1,528 single-family homes were sold in Sacramento at a median sales price of $440,500.

In short: Fewer homes are being sold after spending more time on the market, making it cheaper for buyers to snag a home.

Below is a list of some of the top Sacramento-area ZIP codes that saw the most single-family houses sold in November, according to the realtor association:

RANCHO CORDOVA

ZIP code: 95670

Houses sold: 66

Median sales price: $492,450

Located just over 10 miles east of downtown and roughly 25 minutes from the Sacramento International Airport, Rancho Cordova is noted to have a dense suburban feel. Located along a six-mile stretch of the American River, Rancho Cordova has a buzzing art scene, 26 miles of bike and pedestrian trails and 70 acres of creek channels and tributaries.

CARMICHAEL

Median sales price: $525,000

Carmichael is a vibrant yet quiet suburb in Sacramento County. It’s located near the American River, Ancil Hoffman Park and bike trails. The city is also home to one of only two regional libraries in Sacramento County.

FOLSOM

Median sales price: $765,000

Roughly 30 minutes east of downtown is the quaint and charming area of Fair Oaks. Located right along the American River means that the outdoors is popular. The small-town vibe of Fair Oaks is apparent in its open space for sports, family picnics and recreation and special events.
