The highly anticipated sequel to Amazon Prime Video's 'The Family Man 2' has maintained a high bar for personal enjoyment and thrills. Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni, Priyamani, and Shreya Dhanwanthary were all commended for their outstanding performances.
The show has been lauded not only for the cast’s stellar performances but also for the fascinating story and suspense created for the viewers.
Following the Season 2 release, fans are eagerly awaiting the third installment. However, allegations about the core cast earning astronomical salaries have gone viral.
Family Man Season 2 comes with thrills and chills
Raj and DK's production wowed audiences and critics alike with its compelling narrative and outstanding performances. Season 1 was a smash hit, and Season 2 appears to have maintained the series' share of thrills and adventure. Samantha Akkineni, who plays Raji in the plot, recently revealed that she performed all her stunts and trained with Yannick Ben, which drew widespread praise for her.
Samantha Akkineni is not far behind Manoj Bajpayee
Recently, a report revealed that the production crew compensated the cast generously, with the male lead Manoj Bajpayee receiving an astounding Rs. 10 crores
Bajpayee, who has starred in both seasons as spy Srikant Tiwari, is understandably the salary leader; however, Season 2 adversary Samantha Akkineni wasn't far behind. She earned at least Rs. 3–4 crores for her role as Raji, according to reports.
The supporting actors were richly rewarded
The story further reported that the supporting cast members were also well compensated.
Darshan Kumar received a total of Rs. 1 crore for his role as Major Sameer. While Sharad Kelkar received Rs. 1.6 crores for his depiction of Suchi's closest friend Arvind. Aslesha Thakur earned well over Rs. 50 lakhs to play Bajpayee's daughter Dhriti and Sunny Hinduja, who reprised his role as Milind, reportedly earned Rs. 60 lakhs.
“Family Man 2” personally encountered several issues so far
The show, which was delayed due to litigation involving Amazon's other shows—Mirzapur and Tandav, has drawn criticism from the moment the trailer was released and has continued to do so. Numerous groups in Tamil Nadu claimed that it portrayed Tamilians and their culture negatively and demanded that it be banned. Recently, numerous women have accused Raj and DK of racial prejudice for Akkineni's infamous darker complexion, which they have vigorously denied and condemned.
Playing the character Raji isn't about gaining another ethnicity
As stated by Akkineni, “In the sense of grandeur, you're attempting to argue that dark complexion is unattractive and pale skin is... For starters, this is not the appropriate environment. We are all various colours of brown… so it isn't a question of casting a particular ethnicity to fulfil this (protagonist) role.”
The venture insiders have declined to validate any of these numbers, hinting that they are the product of someone else's imagination, apart from the rumors. So, hold your horses because you never know what the Family Man Season 3 cast will earn.
