The Dallas-based company, which operates more than 30 hospitals nationwide, said it does not expect any interruptions in its hospitals’ day-to-day operations, which the company said will continue in the ordinary course throughout the Chapter 11 process. In court filings, the company said that beginning in late January, Steward initiated what it described as a “phased marketing process” for the sale of its hospital facilities.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A group of Tennesseans who say they were intimidated into not voting in a primary election or were threatened with prosecution after they did vote has filed a legal challenge to two state laws meant to prevent crossover voting. A law passed last year requires polling places to post warning signs stating that it’s a crime for someone to vote in a political party’s primary if they are not a bona fide member of that party. After nearly a decade, Nicaragua's congress finally canceled on Wednesday a controversial canal concession granted to a Chinese businessman that critics said endangered the environment and threatened to displace rural communities. Despite a symbolic “groundbreaking” in 2014, no work was done on the canal that was to link Nicaragua’s Atlantic and Pacific coasts. The proposed $50 billion, 172-mile (278-kilometer) canal across this Central American nation was long viewed as a joke that later turned deadly serious.

Prices eased despite another decline in output, forecasts for higher demand over the next two weeks than previously expected, an increase in the amount of gas flowing to liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plants and as hot weather in Texas boosted the amount of gas power generators burn to keep air conditioners humming. Traders noted that if U.S. crude prices continue to decline - crude futures were down about 9% over the past five weeks - some drillers could cut back on oil production in shale basins that also produce a lot of associated gas, like the Permian in Texas and New Mexico and the Bakken in North Dakota. Any reduction in associated gas could cause overall gas output to decline since high crude prices enable energy firms to keep making money by drilling for oil even when gas prices are negative like they have been at the Waha hub in West Texas in recent days.

Given all that’s gone on since Brendan Rodgers agreed to return as Celtic manager in June, this season has felt like several campaigns wrapped into one. Before the first kick of a ball he would lose Aaron Mooy to retirement, Jota to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad and Carl Starfelt to Celta Vigo as his plans immediately started on the back foot. Add in early season squabbles between the club and the Green Brigade, the highly publicised exit of Israeli international Liel Abada and injuries to key players Callum McGregor, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate and you can see the difficulties that the manager has faced.
