Mandy Moore is one of many celebrities who have announced their pregnancies in quarantine, and she just revealed that hers got off to a pretty rough start. In a recent virtual interview for The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM radio, Moore explained that she was "super sick" in the beginning of her pregnancy with her first child with husband Taylor Goldsmith.

"I don't know how women do it," she said. "I literally woke up and was sick all day long. I couldn't eat, I lost a bunch of weight." In this instance, however, quarantine was a blessing for Moore. "I was home, so I didn't have to miss out on work...I just stayed in bed all day," she added.

Now, Moore feels grateful that her sickness didn't last long. "I know that's not the case for everybody, that it sometimes can persevere for the entire pregnancy, so I'm lucky that that kind of trailed off and I feel much better now," she added. "But beyond that, I feel like I have my energy back, I'm feeling good."

With her health restored, Moore also says she's happy to be back at work filing the return of NBC's This Is Us—which is tackling the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"We went back to work on This Is Us maybe a couple of months ago now, and it's lovely to have that to look forward to," she said. "I feel very grateful, I know that's not the case for everybody, especially in our line of work, but that's been lovely."

Moore even told TODAY earlier this month that her role as Rebecca Pearson on the show has given her some confidence in her ability to care for her own child. "Playing a matriarch of a family for the last five years and getting to see children at various different chapters and stages, I feel like I'm as pseudo-prepared as I can be," she said. "I've had babies and toddlers and adult children [on the show], so I've gotten a pretty good taste and lay of the land."

Overall, Moore told Jess Cagle that she has "no complaints" about staying home the past several months. "I'm a bit of a homebody, so it hasn't been too challenging for me," she said. Leave it to Moore to find the silver lining in every scenario.
