Man United XI vs Atalanta: Ronaldo starts - Confirmed lineup, team news, injury latest for Champions League

Manchester United have Aaron Wan-Bissaka available for their Champions League clash with Atalanta after his suspension was halved on appeal.

The full-back was sent off in United’s opening day defeat to Young Boys but had his ban reduced from two matches to one, meaning he is able to return after missing the last-gasp win over Villarreal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could also welcome back South American pair Fred and Edinson Cavani after they returned late from international duty with Brazil and Uruguay, respectively, and had to sit out Saturday’s defeat to Leicester.

Marcus Rashford scored on his return from injury in that game, but Harry Maguire struggled after being rushed back to help fill the absence left by Raphael Varane’s absence.

Anthony Martial remains out after returning from international duty with France with an injury.

"Anthony joined in training today but he’s still not fit enough to join us [for the match]," the manager said pre-game. "Harry’s not had any reaction so he’s fine and good to go. We didn’t lose anyone else from the game through injury at the weekend, so we’re, more or less, a full squad.

"Raphael is still not with us but Edinson and Fred are back available which is good for us."

Man United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo.

Subs: Henderson, Telles, Bailly, Dalot, Lingard, Mata, Matic, Pogba, Van de Beek, Cavani, Elanga, Sancho.

Atalanta XI: Musso; De Roon, Demiral, Palomino; Zappacosta, Koopmeiners, Palasic, Freuler, Maehle; Ilicic, Muriel.

Subs: Rossi, Sportiello, Pezzella, Malinovskyi, Scalvini, Miranchuk, Lovato, Zapata, Piccoli.
