A 32-year-old man is accused of cutting a stranger’s face with a small reciprocating saw in Utah, police said.

Samuel Hubble approached three people who were walking a dog late Tuesday night and became tangled in the animal’s leash, Salt Lake City Police Department said.

This sparked to an argument between the group and Hubble, during which he raised the saw and sliced a man’s face with the blade above his eye, police said.

Authorities say Hubble then went to his house, grabbed a metal pipe and broke a car window before returning back to his home, according to a news release.

Police made attempts to contact the suspect through the phone and a loudspeaker, but he wouldn’t come out of the house, police said.

SWAT entered his home around 2 a.m. and found him in a bedroom, police said.

Neither Hubble nor the man he sliced suffered life-threatening injuries.

Hubble was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief.
