Using the cup is as easy as sticking it in the freezer. Then, you can pull it out, pour in a regular drink and squeeze it a few times. The result is a delicious, icy-cold beverage.

On TikTok, the gadget has drawn plenty of praise and interest. Still, we had to see this thing in action for ourselves — so we ordered a few cups and put it to the test with every drink in our fridges.

Can the ‘ slushy cup’ really turn any drink into a slushy?

To test this thing out, we tried making four different drinks with it — frozen orange juice, frozen Gatorade, frozen soda and even frozen coffee. Here’s how it handled each one.

Orange juice: This was the biggest struggle for the cup. Here, it didn’t seem like the juice turned into a slushy, but rather just a cold drink with a few shards of ice in it.

Gatorade: This one was a major winner. Here, our Gatorade froze quickly and turned into something like a delicious, freezing cold snow cone.

Soda: Homemade ICEEs? Yes, please. This one tasted exactly like a refreshing movie theater ICEE. Somehow, freezing soda makes it taste even better.

Coffee: This one felt like a stretch, but somehow it worked. To make a “homemade” Frappuccino, we got one of Starbuck’s bottled drinks from the grocery store and then crunched it up in the slushy cup. The result was the cheapest Frappuccino you’ll ever get.

Ultimately, our slushy cups tackled somewhere between three and 3 ½ of our challenges. That’s pretty good — definitely good enough for something that costs less than $20.
