Married At First Sight Australia comes to an end on E4 tonight with a big reunion episode. But the series was actually filmed in 2018, meaning the couples are now three years on from the experiment.

We already know which pairings survived the journey (and which ones didn't), but Mike Gunner has now revealed he and Heidi Latcham aren't even in touch, three years on from their wedding.

In the final commitment ceremony, the pair decided to stay married and discussed the fact they loved each other. But it wasn't to be - despite moving in together, the couple split a few weeks later, and Heidi now doesn't reply to Mike's messages.

"She could light up a room like no one I've ever met,"Mike said during the Grand Reunion special (via Hello). "Everybody fell for it, and I see it as a huge missed opportunity. I don't know if I've made peace with it, even two years later. I made a lot of mistakes. They were hurtful to her and damaging to our relationship."

Asked if he'd try to reconcile with Heidi by reaching out, Mike added, " I've tried, but she doesn't message back."

Previously, 47-year-old Mike opened up about his biggest regret from the show. Speaking to OK! Magazine, he explained that a comment he made comparing the men and women in the experiment was taken out of context and reflected badly about him.

"Now they cut that up to make it out to sound like I said 'men handle pressure better than women,' and that just sounded like a real stab at gender and that really annoyed me," he commented.

"So that’s a regret. I should’ve literally just have said nothing. [I was] pissed.. that's really not how it happened."
