The shores of Santa Monica beach were filled with residents trying to cool down.Tyler Nolan from Culver City, who was working out in the public outdoor gym, said "This is like the place to be, especially in this heatwave if you want to dump in the water real quick, come back over here and do some exercises. I usually don't work out over here. I usually work out over there but the sand is too hot today. It's just too damn hot everywhere."Others like Averi Blackwell were simply loving the heat. "I'm just dealing with it, loving it, breathing it, you know and just taking in the sun and wiping my brow," he said. While temperatures at the beach were hitting 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius), the temperatures were higher in the San Fernando Valley, inland.Residents there were fortunate enough to visit outdoor swimming pools, many of which had just reopened for the first time on Tuesday."It's scorching," said John Lindo, who was at the pool with his son. He added "Thank god for a little bit of A/C we get from the ocean. If it wasn't for that, man, it would be terrible."The heatwave is expected to continue until Sunday.
