Credit card travel rewards are a popular way to book trips, and for good reason. Instead of spending your hard-earned cash, you can use points or miles you've earned from paying with your credit cards. It's not a sure thing this will be the case, but there are some signs that booking travel this way could become more difficult.
In her primary victory Tuesday in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District, first-term Democratic U.S. Rep. Summer Lee not only far outperformed her lone challenger across the District, but she was also on track to far surpass her own win in the primary two years ago. The Associated Press called the race for Lee at 9:21 p.m. ET, when she led Edgewood Borough Councilmember Bhavini Patel, 59% to 41%, with more than half of the vote reporting. Lee was ahead in both vote-rich Allegheny County, which includes Pittsburgh, and in Westmoreland County, where she was trounced in the 2022 primary.
A Texas grand jury indicted more than 140 migrants on misdemeanor rioting charges Tuesday over an alleged mass attempt to breach the U.S.-Mexico border, a day after a judge threw out the cases. Mass arrests also followed a separate episode in the Texas border city in March. "The citizens of El Paso, through the grand jury, essentially overruled the judge’s ruling and found probable cause to believe that the riots did occur,” El Paso County District Attorney Bill Hicks told reporters Tuesday.
Baltimore police are sharing more details after a new push to crack down on traffic violations. In an exclusive interview with WBAL Radio, Commissioner Richard Worley said BPD performed nearly 700 traffic stops this past weekend alone. Since implementing the increased focus on traffic enforcement on March 29, Worley said the department is averaging more than 200 traffic stops per day.

A former police officer suspected in the killings of his ex-wife and girlfriend has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, officials said Tuesday night. Oregon State Police Captain Kyle Kennedy said the suspect -- Elias Huizar -- led Troopers on a chase after a failed traffic stop on the I-5 in Eugene around 2:40 p.m. PT. No troopers were hurt in the incident, according to Kennedy.
The dollar nursed its wounds on Wednesday following big tumbles against the euro and sterling, but the yen remained mired near 34-year lows even as Japanese officials stepped up intervention warnings. The dollar's broad overnight losses were driven by a combination of surprisingly robust European activity data and cooling U.S. business growth. The Australian dollar made the most of a weakened greenback and rallied in early Asian trade on Tuesday, helped by hotter-than-expected consumer price data.
