The nation's school meals will get a makeover under new nutrition standards that limit added sugars for the first time, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday. The final rule also trims sodium in kids' meals, although not by the 30% first proposed in 2023. And it continues to allow flavored milks — such as chocolate milk — with less sugar, rather than adopting an option that would have offered only unflavored milk to the youngest kids. The aim is to improve nutrition and align with U.S. dietary guidelines in the program that provides breakfasts to more than 15 million students and lunches to nearly 30 million students every day at a cost of about $22.6 billion per year.

German email service Tuta Mail has complained to European Union tech regulators about what it described as a sudden drop in Google search results on the day the bloc's new tech rules kicked in. The European Commission last month launched investigations into Alphabet unit Google, Apple and Meta Platforms over potential breaches of the new Digital Markets Act (DMA), with Google's case partly focused on whether search results discriminate against third-party services. Tuta Mail, which says it is the second-largest encrypted email service in the world with more than 10 million users, filed a complaint to the DMA taskforce on Tuesday.
The 58-year-old actor, who co-wrote, produced, directed and starred in the 2016 movie, didn't expect the follow-up to flop because he thought audiences were clamouring for a sequel to 2001's Zoolander. "I thought everybody wanted this," Stiller said on an upcoming episode of David Duchovny's new podcast Fail Better, reports People. "And then it's like, 'Wow, I must have really f**ked this up.' Everybody didn't go to it. And it's gotten these horrible reviews." Stiller admitted the flop "freaked (him) out" and made him doubt his comedic abilities.

The monthly reading took annual inflation in Latin America's second-largest economy to 4.63%, also above the expected 4.48% and the Bank of Mexico's target of 3%, plus or minus 1 percentage point.
At long last, the Rwanda Bill is passed, and Rishi “enough is enough” Sunak is pledging to get “multiple flights a month” off the ground, deporting illegal migrants within 10-12 weeks. Maybe. Some see the snail’s pace at which the Bill crawled along as a belated acknowledgment that those like Suella Braverman and Robert Jenrick, who warned that it would only lead to a handful of symbolic flights, were right all along. Charter planes may be on standby (I hear they had trouble persuading airlines

The yen fell on Wednesday to its weakest levels against the dollar since 1990, with markets alert to any signs of intervention from the Japanese authorities to prop up their currency. The decline in the yen comes after a string of strong U.S. inflation data pushed the dollar to five-month highs and reinforced expectations that the Federal Reserve is unlikely to be in a rush to cut interest rates this year. The yen's slide against the dollar has revived anticipation of currency intervention.
