Not all sneaker drops get the trending news treatment. While the Yeezys and Fried Chicken kicks of the world get lots of media attention, so many other launches go unnoticed. However, that doesn’t mean they’re not worth the investment.

In this week’s episode of Complex and In The Know’s The Flip, host Racks Hogan goes over the underrated kicks on the resale market that are actually worth it and even flags the ones you should skip out on.

Set for an April 16, 2021 release, this Adidas x Sean Wotherspooon collaboration isn’t for the faint at heart. The funky “modge podge” of prints and patterns is a departure from the usual Adidas style and form. Racks’ take on these is also pretty interesting.

“At first glance, it’s definitely a looker. But I’m gonna say this. I’m gonna put it on the ‘maybe’ category,” Racks says during the episode. “Let me tell you why: Sean does have a strong following and if numbers are kept low, you might see this sneaker on the resale market doing some pretty decent numbers.”

Another classic sneaker drop that’s bubbling under on the resale market is the 2016-released Air Griffey Max 1 in Varsity Royal. It’s now set for an April 16, 2021 relaunch.

Despite being an iconic release, Racks doesn’t think this one’s worth it.

“Now, this is a classic sneaker, you know, going back to when he used to knock home runs out the park for the Mariners,” Racks says of the Air Griffeys. “But, again, I’m gonna have to throw this one on the ‘not list,’ bro, because, again, this shoe has come out before. There was no problem gettin’ them.”

Speaking of re-releases, these Sean Wotherspoon x Air Maxes first launched for Air Max Day in 2018 and even won the “Vote Forward” campaign at the time. What makes these special though is the combination of the upper of an Air Max 97 with the sole of an Air Max 1. Also, the retro-inspired multicolored corduroy upper with corduroy pull tabs adds a vintage-yet-modern flair.

Perfect for the spring? We’d definitely say so!
