Love Island 2020 contestant Shaughna Phillips has accused the show of faking the heart rate monitor challenge results in a bid to cause more drama in the villa. Eek.

Last night's Love Island really kicked off, didn't it? After the Islanders were challenged with pulling their best shapes in a bid to get each other's heart rates racing, the results caused carnage for a lot of couples.

First, Tasha was upset that Danica raised Andrew's heart rate more than her. Then Paige and Jacques' relationship was thrown into disarray by his results showing ex-girlfriend Gemma excited him the most (and he excited her).

*And* Dami and Indiyah were left confused over why their names weren't called out for each other's highest heart rates.

Now, Shaughna from winter Love Island has insisted she thinks the challenge is fixed, to get a reaction out of couples. During her own dirty dancing challenge, her heart rate was raised the most by partner Callum Jones, but his was not for her.

"I think it was set up," she said on the Should I Delete That? podcast. "In the competition it said mine went up for Callum, and obviously it would’ve been a greater storyline that mine went for Callum and Callum’s didn’t go [up] for me, but I don’t think mine went for him.

"I’m sure mine went for someone else. Even though I know, or I think it wasn’t true, the nation’s then watching me looking like a t**t. I just felt like a donut.”

When Cosmopolitan UK reached out, ITV declined to comment.
