Louise Redknapp has admitted she was “shocked” by the amount of judgement she faced amid her split from husband Jamie.

The couple went their separate ways in 2017, and the Eternal singer has now opened up about it in her new autobiography, You’ve Got This: And Other Things I Wish I Had Known.

During a chat on The One Show she admitted it wasn’t easy going through their divorce in the spotlight.

“I think I was really shocked by the amount of... judgement maybe is the right word," said the star, who shares two sons with Jamie.

"I couldn’t understand why I was so heavily judged."

“But I understand that people report on what’s going on," she added.

"I’ve been in this industry a long time and I don’t expect my life to not be reported on.

"It was just scary, it was a scary time.

“I was going through a hard time and I think what I did learn is you do have to get broad shoulders in life sometimes and surround yourself by good people, keep your chin up and just keep on going. “

The star said her children and her mum were her “saviours” at the time.

Louise was married to football star Jamie for 19 years and last month opened up about the struggles she faced when their marriage came to an end.

"I would be standing in Central London, watching the buses whizz past and I would wonder whether it would be easier for a bus to take me out,” the 46-year-old shared in the Mail on Sunday's You magazine.
