Lost Sheep Goes for Ride in Maine Police Cruiser

A lucky sheep seemed to enjoy riding in the back of a police cruiser, after it was picked up wandering away from its flock in Old Town, Maine.

This footage, uploaded on July 5 shows the animal bleating as it pokes its head through the partition. The officers who secured the animal can be heard off camera laughing.

According to the Old Town Police Department, it received a report of a sheep wandering onto someone’s property. In a Facebook post the department said “Sergeant Bailey and Deputy Chief Miller responded and were able to corral the sheep and direct him into the back seat of our police cruiser”.

“After a brief stroll around the neighborhood,” the post read, “they were able to locate the sheep’s home and return him to his owner.” Credit: Old Town Police Department via Storyful
