'We Lost Greenville Tonight': Homes Destroyed as Dixie Fire Devastates Small Californian Town

The small Northern California town of Greenville was left in ruins after the Dixie Fire tore through it on August 4.

Officials said damage was still to be assessed in Greenville, but initial reports indicated as much as 75 percent of the town’s structures had been lost to the blaze.

In a Facebook video, California Congressman Doug LaMalfa said his “heart is aching for what people are dealing with”.

“We lost Greenville tonight,” the Republican representative said. “Us in government haven’t been able to get the job done for you. I’ll take up the fight even harder.”
