Los Angeles Chargers at Cleveland Browns: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 5 matchup

Quarterback Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers hit the next stop on their road trip when they arrive in Cleveland to take on Nick Chubb's Browns.

Both the Chargers and Browns will be searching for their third win of the 2022 NFL regular season, but which team will come out on top? Can Jacoby Brissett and the Browns get past a tough Chargers defense? Or will Herbert and Co. be too much for Cleveland to keep up with? The game is set to kick off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET from FirstEnergy Stadium.

Here's a look at the betting details and USA TODAY's NFL staff picks for the Chargers vs. Browns Week 5 game:

Lorenzo Reyes: Chargers 28, Browns 23

Both of these teams can put up points, so I think the over hits. But it’s time to question some of the decisions Browns coach Kevin Stefanski is making. Los Angeles is getting healthier, with J.C. Jackson and Corey Linsley returning. If it can get Keenan Allen back, then this is a must-play. Either way, I like the Chargers to cover on the road.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (30) celebrates with tight end Gerald Everett (7) and guard Zion Johnson (77) after scoring a touchdown during the second quarter against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.

Safid Deen: Chargers 27, Browns 24

The Browns are holding up well without Deshaun Watson, playing good team ball for the most part. But this is a game where a quarterback like Justin Herbert takes control and wills his team to a win on the road.

Lance Pugmire: Chargers 33, Browns 17

Winning back-to-back road games isn’t an easy feat, but Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler are a formidable force. It’s hard to imagine the Browns and ailing defensive end Myles Garrett (shoulder) slowing them.

Jarrett Bell: Browns 24, Chargers 20

Nate Davis: Browns 24, Chargers 23

Tyler Dragon: Chargers 25, Browns 20
