Yahoo Movies Lori Loughlin's Daughters Olivia Jade and Bella Are 'on Edge' and 'Worried' About Their 'Terrified' Parents
Over one year after Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli were charged in the college admissions cheating scandal for paying $500,000 to make it appear their daughters Olivia Jade and Bella were rowing team recruits to guarantee their admission to the University of Southern California, Lori and Mossimo have both been sentenced to months in jail. The couple took a plea deal and received their sentences—5 months in prison, 2 years of supervised release for Mossimo and 2 months in prison, 2 years of supervised release for Lori—on Friday.
E! got an update on how the family is doing now that it really is happening: the Full House actress and her designer husband truly are prison-bound. A source told E! that Lori and Mossimo "are terrified about going to jail" because of the ongoing spread of COVID-19 within the prison systems. Where and when Lori and Mossimo are serving hasn't been decided yet, E! reports.
Their daughters Olivia, 20, and Bella, 21, are legitimately concerned for their parents. The girls are "worried," E!'s source said. Bella and Olivia "hate to see them so upset."
"Everyone is on edge and just trying to hold it together and stay strong," the source said of the family generally.
That source added that Lori and Mossimo are trying to serve their sentences at different times so the girls are never without a parent. "They don't want to have any overlap and leave the girls on their own," the source said. "They are trying to work out a way that one of them can be in L.A. with the girls while the other is serving their sentence."
Lori pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud while Mossimo pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and one count of honest services wire and mail fraud. Their daughters Olivia and Bella, by the way, are no longer enrolled at USC. Olivia, who was a popular beauty vlogger prior to her parents' scandal, tried to restart her YouTube channel in December. She hasn't posted any new videos since.
