Nobody knows how to do a meal right quite like a Hobbit. For one particular dinner, there happened to be four of them.
Dominic Monaghan, who played who played Merry in the Lord of the Rings movies, shared a photo from a reunion dinner he shared with his former costars Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Sam), and Billy Boyd (Pippin). Now, the question is, was it dinner or supper? It couldn't have been Elevenses. It was much too late in the day for that.

"It was another one of those successful smash it out of the park kick it into row Z slap my arse and call me lucy any of it was recorded none of us would work again…..meal's," Monaghan captioned the photo when he shared it to Instagram this past weekend. "Thank you @jaleobyjose for looking after us. #becurious."
These four have been buddies since the time they all worked together on Peter Jackson's trilogy, which began with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring back in 2001. They've participated in various cast reunions since then, including one on The Late Show where they rapped a Middle-earth-inspired song with late-night host and Tolkien super fan Stephen Colbert.

The Lord of the Rings is currently coming back into the zeitgeist in a prominent way with The Rings of Power, the upcoming TV series that is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this Sept. 2. The show will take place thousands of years before the events of author J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books.
Astin had weighed in on the concept of a new Lord of the Rings back in 2017. "I've been saying for 15 years that maybe like 12 years after Lord of the Rings came out, that it would get remade," he said. "And people always said, 'Oh no, it'll never get remade! It's a classic! They could never top it!' And I'm like, 'No, it'll get remade. It's a massive story! The characters are so beloved.'"
No matter how many remakes there are, it's good to know the original quartet will always be together.
