A Long Awaited Taste Of Normalcy For Outdoor Rec Club

·1 min read

The Outdoor Recreation Club (ORC) held their first open house and BBQ in two years on Sunday, Aug. 14. Usually, the ORC tries to hold one BBQ a year, usually in the spring, but there’s been at least one year when they’ve been able to have a second one in the fall.

As has been the story in so many cases over the last two years, the ORC couldn’t hold its open house event in 2020 0r 2021 due to the pandemic-related health restrictions at the time. The 2022 open house was initially planned for spring but had to be pushed back to align with members’ schedules.

With blues skies and little wind, the weather on Sunday was perfect for the range. ORC members began arriving around 10 AM and seemed to enjoy getting together on the long gun range and the sporting clay bays.

Add in some barbequed hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch, and it’s hard to think of a better way to spend a beautiful summer Sunday afternoon.
