Loewe Is Making a Case for Inflated Sunglasses

Loewe's Creative Director Jonathan Anderson takes a surrealist exploration for the house’s Fall/Winter 2022 womenswear collection. The conceptual vision includes car-shaped hemlines, lip-shaped breastplates, paper bag boots and balloon shoes. Alongside this season’s pieces are ready-to-wear accessories that are also making a name for themselves. Enter: Loewe's inflated sunglasses.

True to the collection’s narrative, the British designer presented a creative play on the eyewear’s shapes and silhouettes. It is classified into three playful iterations called Mask, Rectangular, and Cateye. Every pair is also available in colors ranging from a classic black or white to primary colors of yellow, red or blue.

All three styles create their own individual approach to a retro-futuristic feel. The Mask is the most daring pick and is characterized by a uni-piece lens engulfed in a thick frame. The Rectangular features a '70s-inspired inflated rectangular frame with the same triangle-darted Loewe arms, while the Cateye is the collection’s interpretation of the classic cat-eye frame.

Despite the fact that the pairs made their debut in the house’s womenswear collection, these sunglasses can be coded as unisex wear. After all, the future of fashion is genderless.

Priced at $360 USD each, Loewe's Inflated Sunglasses are available on the brand's website.
