Liwa 2018 Moreeb Dune Festival

During the nine-day Moreeb Dune Festival, participants from around the Persian Gulf face exciting challenges, including drag races, bike races, a motocross track challenge, camel races, horse races and a classic car competition.

The highlight of the festival is the adventurous race to the top of one of the world’s highest sand hills, the Moreeb Dune, which means “terrifying mountain.” At over 300 meters high and with a 50-degree slope, the dune is the setting for different car and bike races.

This festival offers a weeklong celebration of United Arab Emirates heritage, with competitions and activities, including bike riding and camping in the desert of Moreeb Dune.

Visitors and participants attending the festival and races enjoy unique facilities and services, which makes camping at the Moreeb Dune an extraordinary experience.

This year, the festival includes a variety of events and different sports activities, including: freestyle drifting, a motocross competition, falcon races, camel races, horse races, a sand drag competition, a Moreeb car competition as well as a classic- and custom-car competition.
