Liverpool 3-1 Wolves LIVE! Premier League result, match stream and latest updates today
Liverpool's bid for an unprecedented quadruple of major trophies ended in agonising fashion on Sunday despite coming from behind to beat Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season.
Jurgen Klopp's team also needed Manchester City to drop points against Aston Villa — managed by Liverpool great Steven Gerrard — and the league leaders recovered from two goals down to win 3-2 in a dramatic finale at Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool finished a point behind City — just like in the 2018-19 season — and missed out on a record-tying 20th English league championship.
It is still an extraordinary season for Liverpool, which has won both the FA Cup and League Cup and will play in the Champions League final against Real Madrid next weekend.
Pedro Neto gave Wolves the lead in the third minute after Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate misjudged a long ball forward, allowing Raul Jimenez to run through and cross for Neto to tap in.
Sadio Mane equalised in the 24th, and Liverpool wound up fulfilling its part of the final-day bargain by scoring through Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson in the final six minutes.

Thanks for sticking with us and congrats to Manchester City for winning the title. For Liverpool? It’s the Champions League final on Saturday.
Henderson reacts
18:22 , Alex Young
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said it was a "tough afternoon" and congratulated City on their title success.
Henderson told Sky Sports: "We didn't play particularly well, there were a few nerves, but we came through well in the end and scored some good goals.
"We kept going and found a way to win, but it was a tough afternoon.
"We didn't really know what was going on (at the Etihad), we were just focused on ourselves.
"Unfortunately it wasn't enough. We gave everything all season. In January I think we'd have bitten your hand off to take it to the last day.
"I'm very proud of what the boys have done, and we've got to say congratulations to City."

What a remarkable finale to a remarkable Premier League season.
Full-time!
17:57 , Alex Young
That’s that! Liverpool (eventually) win but they won’t have the title. Anfield still in full voice.
GOAL!
17:51 , Alex Young
89min: Robertson gets in on the act but it's too little, too late unless Villa score again.
GOAL!
17:46 , Alex Young
84min: Salah! He pokes home on the goal line to give Liverpool the lead!Golden Boot race is level, but City lead the title race.
17:43 , Alex Young
City have gone ahead! This is an incredible turnaround, Gundogan with another to tuck home a De Bruyne pass.
17:42 , Alex Young
79min: Liverpool are huffing and puffing but there has barely been a chance for note.
17:39 , Alex Young
Anfield has gone very quiet.
17:39 , Alex Young
City have equalised against Aston Villa. One goal is still enough for Liverpool.
17:37 , Alex Young
73min: Half a chance for Wolves as Hwang heads from about 15 yards but it’s an equal distance wide.
Liverpool still need a goal... and City have pulled one back against Villa.
17:33 , Alex Young
Son has scored another! Salah takes the lead in the Golden Boot race.
17:31 , Alex Young
70min: Word has reached Anfield. The roof is going off.
But, as it stands, City are still winning the title.
17:30 , Alex Young
Oh my word, it’s 2-0 to Aston Villa! Phillipe Coutinho of all people!
17:28 , Alex Young
Over in Norwich, Son has scored! He’s drawn level with Salah in the Golden Boot race.
17:26 , Alex Young
64min: Alexander-Arnold tests Ruddy from the edge of the area and Salah can’t bury the rebound.
17:23 , Alex Young
59min: Jota makes way.
Son still hasn’t scored for Spurs so the Golden Boot is the Egyptian’s as it stands.
17:19 , Alex Young
58min: Here comes Salah!
17:18 , Alex Young
56min: Almost a very well-worked goal as Alexander-Arnold floats one to the back post that Jota heads back across for Mane... but Ruddy claims well.
17:15 , Alex Young
52min: Jota wriggles through after Wolves lose possession in their final third but Mane is flagged offside in the build-up. They are pushing.
NO GOAL!
17:12 , Alex Young
Keita thinks he has put Liverpool ahead but he's offside.
My word, this is tense.
17:09 , Alex Young
46min: Back underway, a few minutes behind City.
One change apiece
17:08 , Alex Young
One change for Liverpool as Milner replaces Thiago. That’s a blow ahead of the Champions League final
Ruddy replaces Sa in the Wolves goal.
17:06 , Alex Young
Liverpool team only just coming out for the second half. City kicking off.
Half-time!
16:52 , Alex Young
Liverpool fans are starting to believe thanks to that Matty Cash goal at the Etihad.
They need to win, though, and you wouldn’t bet against them after Sadio Mane cancelled out Pedro Neto’s opener.
16:47 , Alex Young
45min: Sa receiving treatment now as we approach stoppage time. It’s his knee.
Ruddy is warming up, this would be a blow for Wolves but also takes the wind out of Liverpool’s sails.
16:45 , Alex Young
43min: Wolves still showing plenty of fight here. They sense a result here but Anfield is absolutely rocking.
Superb action here.
16:41 , Alex Young
40min: Chance! It’s Wolves on the counter again as Jimenez runs through and fires towards Allison’s near post but it’s inches wide.
16:41 , Alex Young
One thing that has been settled is the Golden Glove as Alisson and Ederson will share it with 20 clean sheets.
Over at the Etihad
16:38 , Alex Young
Oh, hello! Aston Villa have taken the lead at Manchester City...
City still in pole position as Liverpool are drawing, but a long way to go.
16:34 , Alex Young
32min: Liverpool’s tails are up and it’s pop-shots-from-25-yards time at the moment. First Thiago and then Mane. Both high and wide.
16:29 , Alex Young
28min: Chance! Robertson does his usual trick of running in late at the back post, unmarked, but he volleys the ball miles over.
GOAL! Mane levels it up
16:25 , Alex Young
24min: You can’t say it hasn’t been coming! Sadio Mane runs through a non-existent Wolves defence to slot home from 15 yards.
16:22 , Alex Young
18min: I spoke (wrote) too soon! Wolves with a rare foray into the Liverpool half and it almost brings a second!
Pedro Neto picks out Leander Dendoncker in the middle and he somehow fires it wide!
16:19 , Alex Young
17min: Wolves essentially camped out in their half - I feel like I’m repeating myself a lot already.
16:14 , Alex Young
13min: The first real sight of goal for Liverpool as Jota darts into the area under pressure from Ait-Nouri but his shot-cum-cross towards the back post is to no one.
16:11 , Alex Young
10min: Wolves have barely touched the ball since going ahead. Jota looks to have a pop from the edge of the area but is quickly crowded out.
16:08 , Alex Young
6min: Liverpool trying to calm everything down after that early goal. Dictacting the game, as expected but little in the way of a sight of goal.
GOAL! Wolves lead!
16:04 , Alex Young
3min: Well, well, well! That wasn’t in the script!Jimenez runs through and puts it on a plate for Neto to hand Wolves the lead!
Kick-off!
16:01 , Alex Young
Here we go!
15:50 , Alex Young
How are your nerves? Kick off in 10 minutes.
It could be another historic day for Liverpool. And another one in six days’ time.

A poor Liverpool fan on his stag do being made to dress up in a Manchester City kit. I hope those sandals aren’t his.
Klopp on team news
15:31 , Alex Young
“Both [Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah] are ready to come on but not to start,” he told Sky Sports. “That’s the advice I got from the medical department.
Fabinho is training but not with us. He will at the beginning of next week.
“Divock Origi in the last day of training got a muscle injury which is not great news. I would have loved to say goodbye on the pitch. It’s all good, it’s not that serious so whichever club he chooses we wish him the best of luck and he will be fine.”
A message for Stevie G
15:24 , Alex Young
Jurgen Klopp insists he isn’t thinking about what’s going on at the Etihad, but has a message for Steven Gerrard.
He told Sky Sport: "We can only play one game, we cannot play two games. We can't play there too. We just have to win then Stevie [Gerrard] - do the rest! We have to win our own game then see."
Three changes from Lage
15:19 , Alex Young
Jose Sa returns in goal for Wolves as Rayan Ait-Nouri and Leander Dendoncker also start.
Seven changes from Klopp
15:19 , Alex Young
So, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz started up front in seven changes for their must-win home game against Wolves.
Having made significant changes for the midweek victory over Villa, Jurgen Klopp restored his best-available side as they went in search of three points in the hope Steven Gerrard's side could take points off Manchester City to hand them the title.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, who both missed the Villa game with minor problems, returned on the bench. Striker Divock Origi, who is leaving at the end of the season, missed out on an Anfield farewell due to a muscle injury.

What Liverpool need
14:54 , Alex Young
Liverpool must become the first team to ever win the title by not starting the final day in top spot.
How? Take a look at our permutations.
14:37 , Alex Young
It’s a lively one outside Anfield. They believe, do you?
No helping hand from Stevie G
14:17 , Alex Young
Some interesting - and still unconfirmed - team news from the Etihad Stadium. Argentine press reporting that Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez has been rested by Steven Gerrard.
No offence to Villa’s second- and third-choice goalkeepers but so much for Gerrard doing Liverpool a favour.
Score prediction
14:11 , Alex Young
Can Wolves spring a huge shock at Anfield to hand Manchester City the title? It seems unlikely but so much of this game could depend on events at the Etihad - as an easy stroll for the leaders could reduce the hosts’ urgency and open up a chance for Wolves.
Still, Liverpool must maintain momentum ahead of the Champions League final no matter what happens with their title rivals.
A 3-1 Liverpool win.
Wolves team news
13:58 , Alex Young
Wolves will hope to welcome back Jose Sa after John Ruddy deputised against Norwich.
Burno Lage will definitely without injured defenders Saiss, Max Kilman and Nelson Semedo for the trip to Anfield, when they will be attempting to arrest a six-game winless run.
Salah rested and Van Dijk rested?
13:47 , Alex Young
The big team news talking points ahead of kick-off is over Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, both of whom missed the win over Southampton due to fitness niggles.
Unconfirmed reports within the last hour claim both start today on the bench.
Confirmed teams at 3pm.
