Liverpool welcome Burnley to Anfield this evening as the hosts look to narrow the gap to rivals and Premier League leaders Manchester United.

Liverpool, who played out a 0-0 draw with the Red Devils last time out, enter tonight’s fixture in fourth place in the top flight with 34 points – six behind United, who saw off Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage yesterday evening. Burnley, meanwhile, are looking to pull clear of the relegation zone and avoid a third straight defeat in the division. Sean Dyche’s team sit in 17th place, four points above the bottom three, with 1-0 losses to West Ham and Man United in their last two outings.

Liverpool are likely to welcome Joel Matip back to the side after he missed out against Man United, meaning Jordan Henderson will potentially move back to his favoured position in midfield after being used in defence last time out, despite Xherdan Shaqiri’s good performance at the weekend. While Diogo Jota is still out injured, Jurgen Klopp will likely keep Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane up front. Burnley, meanwhile, will be relying on their defence to keep the Reds out and Charlie Taylor could come into the starting line-up. Bailey Peacock-Farrell is out due to illness, while Dwight McNeil will be pushing for a start after missing the last two games. Follow all the build-up, live action and post-match reaction below.
