The build-up that came ahead of the release of ROADRUNNER: A Film About Anthony Bourdain was immense. Fans everywhere (including us!) were excited to get a look at the life of the chef and traveler when the film came out July 16 on CNN and HBO Max.

ICYMI, the documentary gives an intimate look at the “uncommon life of the late storyteller, explorer, and chef, Anthony Bourdain.” It has footage of Bourdain himself, as well as people in the food world revealing their experiences with him. For those of us who want to dive deeper, there’s also now a Spotify playlist of all his favorite songs built by the film’s director, Morgan Neville.

As another look into Bourdain’s mind, Neville told Esquire that one of the first things he did when making the documentary was “put together a playlist of all the music that Tony mentioned." He sifted through social media, interviews and books—anywhere Bourdain mentioned a song he listened to—to create the playlist.

The playlist is as intriguing as the man himself. There’s Iggy Pop, Etta James, Jimi Hendrix, Kendrick Lamar, Nancy Sinatra, Blondie and so many more. If you’ve seen the film, you’ll recognize The Modern Lovers’ song "Roadrunner' and Brian Eno's "The Big Ship" both on there too. Neville even talked to some of Bourdain’s friends to add a few more tunes they knew he listened to.

The 302 songs will give you 21 hours of listening time to hear what Bourdain had on in the background when traveling the world, cooking, or hosting. Ready to throw in the headphones? Listen to the whole playlist here.
