We're still coming to terms with all the revelations from the season 6 finale of Line of Duty, where DCI Ian Buckells was unmasked as 'The Fourth Man' (we're still not completely convinced, tbh). In the days since the episode aired we've beeen trying to work out just how we could have missed it - looking back at all the clues about Buckells we missed over the years. And now one viewer has spotted something big. It's a scene showing Buckells playing golf with members of the OCG all the way back in season 1.

The scene in question shows OCG boss Tommy Hunter arriving at a golf course for a round of birdies and corruption back in season 1 episode 5. Golf became a major OCG indicator throughout the series after it was revealed that corrupt officer Matthew 'Dot' Cottan found his way into the organisation by acting as Tommy Hunter's caddy, and that's of course how he earned the nickname 'The Caddy'.

While watching the scene unfold one Twitter user spotted something, which all makes sense now in hindsight. After Hunter gets his golf bag out of the boot of his car the camera briefly pans to his golf partner, which if you look closely, you'll realise is none other than Ian Buckells.

It's all coming together in hindsight now, isn't it?! Although, we're still not completely convinced that bumbling Buckells is definitely the criminal mastermind AC-12 couldn't catch all these years. Guess we better cross our fingers and hope for a seventh series to clear it all up!
