Line of Duty’s sixth series is approaching its end, with the last few episodes featuring a succession of shocking twists and cliffhangers.

The hit BBC police drama has continued to beguile viewers with the mystery of the identity of “H”, also referred to as “the fourth man”.

Introducing some new characters into the mix, most prominently Det Supt Jo Davidson (Kelly Macdonald), series six focuses on the murder of journalist Gail Vella (Andi Osho) and Davidson’s suspected ties to the OCG (organised crime group).

Outside of the core trio, a host of old faces have also reappeared throughout the series, including PC Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper), Steph Corbett (Amy De Bhrún), Jimmy Lakewell (Patrick Baladi), and Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael, played by Anna Maxwell Martin.

The first series of Line of Duty ran for five episodes; subsequent seasons have comprised six episodes each.

However, season six is in fact a longer-than-usual series, running for a total of seven episodes.

Episode six will air on Sunday 25 April, with the series finale airing on 2 May.
